I really like mushrooms

To start things off, this is quite a random topic since I am a brickfilmer, but yeah, I do really like fungi.
Here are 5 reasons I like fungi:

1) There are so many different species, there are 75,000 scientifically identified species but it is thought  that there are at least a million species yet to be identified! 

2) There are so many variations in fungi. Anything from your classic toadstool to something growing out of an ant's head...(ew).



3) They are great for taking photos of, most of the photos I've taken are of fungi:

  

4) You can find them all year round, some mushrooms have chemicals to prevent them from freezing! That's pretty cool.

5) You never know what you will find. About two years ago I found a mushroom in some wood chip just walking though the city and when it was identified I found out it had only been seen in my country since 2004!

One last fact more to do with me is that even know I have liked mushys for over 10 years I have hardly ever eaten them, lol.

Yesterday I finished my BRAWL entry, I think it's ok... I think I could of put more effort into it but hey, there's always a BRAWL 2013. :-)

Smooth Floor

I've been working on an new film recently, when I was inspired by a set from a different Brickfilm. To start off I made a small wall of brown bricks,

then putting that aside for later I built this.

Then I got the wall of brown bricks and slotted them into the 1x4 bricks with side studs,

once that was done, this is what the set looked like.

I kind of like it, I think it looks better than 1x4 smooth pieces and it offers more opportunity, for instance, the welcome mat on the floor.
